2. What personal information we collect
When you submit an enquiry or download a resource through this website, we may collect:
- Your name and work email address
- Your business or organisation name
- Your company’s approximate employee count
- The services you expressed interest in
- A description of your data challenge (if provided)
- How you heard about us (if provided)
- Standard server log data (IP address, browser type, timestamp)
We do not collect payment card information or government identifiers through this site.
3. How we use your information
We use your information only to:
- Respond to your enquiry or deliver the resource you requested
- Understand what services are most relevant to prospective clients
- Send follow-up communications where you have expressly requested them
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. How and where we store your information
Enquiry and lead data submitted through this website is stored as encrypted JSON objects in DigitalOcean Spaces (S3-compatible object storage). Data is stored in the Sydney (syd1) region. Access is restricted to The Data Whisperer principal and is protected by AWS4-HMAC-SHA256 signed requests.
We retain enquiry records for a maximum of 24 months, after which they are permanently deleted.
5. Australian Privacy Principles
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). You have the right to request access to, or correction of, any personal information we hold about you. To make such a request, contact us at hello@thedatawhisperer.com.au.
6. Spam Act compliance
We comply with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Any commercial electronic messages we send will identify us as the sender, include a functional unsubscribe mechanism, and be sent only with your consent. Submitting your email to receive a downloadable resource constitutes consent to receive that resource only — it does not opt you into any ongoing newsletter or marketing list unless you separately agree.
7. Cookies and analytics
This website does not currently use tracking cookies, analytics platforms, or advertising pixels. If this changes, this policy will be updated and a cookie consent mechanism will be added.
8. Third-party links
This site may link to LinkedIn and other external services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those services. Please review their policies before sharing personal information.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of this site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
